THE DALLAS MORNING NEWS CHARITIES:

Provides our Neighbors in Need with Dignity, Hope, and Safety Since 1986

The Dallas Morning News Charities funds North Texas organizations that help people who are homeless and hungry, including a dedicated summer feeding campaign for children in need during the summer months.

KIDS SUMMER FEEDING:

Texas has the highest rate of food insecurity in the nation — and in North Texas, 1 in 5 children faces hunger.

As summer approaches, thousands of local kids are at risk of going without enough to eat. For many low-income families, school meals are a lifeline — often the only consistent source of nutrition their children receive. But when school is out, that lifeline disappears.

That’s why The Dallas Morning News Charities is launching its annual Kids Summer Feeding Campaign, running from May 12 through August 2, with a goal of raising $200,000.

Every dollar donated goes directly toward providing meals for children in need during the summer — a time when donations typically slow, but the need remains urgent.

In partnership with 12 trusted North Texas nonprofit organizations, this campaign delivers meals, snacks, and groceries to children and families facing food insecurity.

Let’s keep kids healthy and fed this summer - together.
