I will be competing again in the L5 Investments Capital Cup to raise critical funds for youth in need.  Kids – first. foremost and always.  My firm, L5 Real Estate Investments, will again sponsor this incredible golf tournament where fellow business and community leaders in Sacramento come together to raise much needed funds for local charities and non-profits.  The Capital Cup has raised more than $15M for local and national charities since 2009.

As a result, the Flaherty IMPACT Foundation is seeking to raise $100,000 to enable disadvantaged youth for success.  We continue to fight to assist displaced and homeless children within our local community, youth and families dealing life-threatening diseases such as pediatric cancer, and young adults seeking higher education with achievement and need based financial scholarships.   Please DONATE HERE – every dollar is immensely appreciated.

This year, I will match every donation dollar for dollar, up to $100,000! Your gift will instantly double!

Flaherty IMPACT Foundation  Last year, we received over $50,000 in tournament donations in which we contributed to the following IMPACT projects:

  • We granted a Make-A-Wish foundation “wish” to a young child and family battling epilepsy.  Our local chapter currently has more than 600 children waiting for their wish to be granted.  The average wish to a child with a critical illness is $10,000.
  • We assisted approximately 40 homeless students (elementary and middle school ages) within our own Rescue Union School District.  4.2 Million youth and young adults experience homelessness in the U.S.
  • We provided financial support to 24 children and families battling pediatric cancer.  Having a child with cancer is one of life’s greatest challenges.  100,000 kids under the age of 15 will be diagnosed with cancer this year.
  • We donated seven (7) financial need-based scholarships to at-risk foster youth seeking a collegiate education.  Less than 10% of foster youth go to college and less than 3% actually graduate due to lack of financial assistance, mentoring and support.
  • We are providing multiple annual, renewable achievement and need-based scholarships to high school seniors at our four local high schools with the El Dorado Union High School District.

100% of your donation will go direct to youth in need and to charities that I am personally involved with (Board experience, etc.) and have completed thorough due diligence on.  I will ensure that your dollars make an IMPACT on kids in need.  As an example, I am currently Board Chairman for Kids Helping Kids Sacramento, Board Member for Rescue Union School District, and Board Member for Wellness4Teens.

Together we can make a difference.  No child should fight alone.

Here are a couple of ways you can contribute:
Financial Support: Join our FIGHT CLUB!  Any monetary donation, no matter the size, will directly contribute to the Flaherty Impact Foundation Every dollar counts and helps us achieve our goals to fight for youth in need.  Remember that we will match every donation dollar for dollar, up to $100,000!

Spread the Word: Even if you're unable to donate directly, sharing this cause with your network can make a significant difference. Your voice has the power to inspire others to support our endeavor.

Let's make an IMPACT together,

Michael Flaherty

The Capital Cup adapts the historic Ryder Cup format—steeped in tradition—to promote community pride, healthy competition, and raise money for the Sacramento region’s most deserving charities. Each year, leaders from the Sacramento region are divided into two teams for an exciting 3-day golf competition. Donors will have the opportunity to support their favorite player (or their favorite charity), as each player is competing to benefit his or her favorite charitable organization. The winning team's designated charities share a prize fund of $100,000! The tournament started with the ambitious goal of raising $250,000 in its first year. When it well surpassed that goal, the tournament committee raised the bar, and has continued to do so every year since—and every year, the participating golfers exceed expectations. The Capital Cup has raised more than $13 million over its history.
