Hi! I'm Blaine. As the Pastor of Ministry Development at Bayside Granite Bay, part of my role is investing in our Married with Kids Ministry, as well as leading our service projects. After touring Sierra Pregnancy + Health, it was clear to me that there’s so much beyond medical care. They walk with these families during multiple stages of life through resources like parenting classes, a fatherhood program, and even reproductive grief care. So, when I heard that they needed a golfer, I couldn’t pass it up. If you have met me, I wouldn’t be surprised if the first thing you learn is that I love golf—just ask my wife! 

Joking aside, I really have a heart for families with kids. As a dad who has experienced pregnancy loss, I could feel and see the real impact this place offers our community. That’s why I'm golfing for Sierra Pregnancy & Health at the Capital Cup Tournament. Because our community needs these resources, with a care team rooted in Christ.   

Through the Fatherhood program, SPH is involving dads into the process while the baby is still in the womb. Even for a dad who feels “ready” to have kids, that is such a stressful time. If he’s in an unplanned pregnancy, he could feel guilt, shame, or like this all feels like a mistake. Like he won’t do well, and it would be “better” if he wasn’t in the equation.  

These dads are going through the same human experience we do—it's just a unique set of circumstances. But no matter what the trouble is—these new dads need encouragement and support. This is why having an available Fatherhood Coach while the mother of the baby is in her medical appointment is such a game changer. Not only does he get an encouraging sounding board and someone who can offer the hope of Christ, but it’s during such a critical time.  

To sum it up: I love golf. But even more, I love seeing lives changed, families strengthened, and Christ shared. Please join me in supporting Sierra Pregnancy + Health.
